Dreaming of your summer holiday?

January. The month most people will spend dreaming of warmer climates. Sunnier days. And booking their summer holiday so they have something to look forward to. Last year we had the privilege of staying at Club Letoonia, in Fethiye, Turkey. It was our third year there and it remains top of my list for family holidays in the sun. Here’s a refresher for you on what it has to offer. In addition, the lovely people at Letoonia are offering Surviving Motherhood readers a 10% discount on bookings (see below). So now those dreams can become a reality. What are you waiting for?

My Instagram feed is positively dreary at the moment. It’s a far cry from last summer when I was posting views like this one of the beautiful coastline that surrounds Club Letoonia.

In fact, I spend many a day scrolling back through my feed just to remember this holiday ever happened and to assure myself that it will happen again. The thought of wearing a bikini sometime in the future also helps stop me from hitting the Miniature Heroes. Ahem.

Our third visit to Club Letoonia, last August, was even better than the previous two times. Familiar surroundings, friendly faces and the same relaxing atmosphere gave our kids and us the security to all seek a little independence, meaning we actually had a holiday. I know, from experience, that the same can’t be said for all holiday locations. So often when you holiday with kids, you return feeling more frazzled than when you left.

Club Letoonia works on an All Inclusive basis. And it really is all inclusive. The only extras are for the three a la carte restaurants (sushi, turkish and fish) but even these are a very small supplement (and the kids eat free).

Sitting on a beautiful peninsula, this is the closest I’ve come to the beauty of Thailand, without spending 14 hours on a plane. The vegetation is lush. Tropical. The water is blue. The view is stunning. There are several sandy beaches as well as some pebbly beaches, many quite secret and private, which you only stumble upon when you walk around the vast perimeter of the resort’s abundant coastline. And the daily sea gym class will get you properly fit and invigorated.

The restaurants are picturesque with views of the bay and they serve excellent food. The mini-club runs for five hours a day and there is a mini-disco in the evening, followed by the amazing Showtime and the late Moonlight disco, if you’re hardcore enough. This is a resort that has thought of everything a family needs and the structure, which is there for the taking as you choose, works so well.

They have a saying at Club Letoonia, ‘Once Letoonia. Always Letoonia.’

And once you’ve stepped foot on their beautiful shores, you’ll know why.
